• Medical Care & Health Navigation: I help patients and families organize complicated health information, prepare for appointments, communicate concerns clearly, understand what questions need to be asked, and navigate care involving multiple providers, specialists, tests, medications, or changing symptoms.
Insurance, Prior Authorization & Medical Billing Advocacy: I help with prior authorizations, insurance denials, confusing medical bills, EOBs, coverage questions, billing discrepancies, and communication with healthcare organizations and insurers.
• Provider, Specialist & Second-Opinion Navigation: I help clients research providers, specialists, treatment facilities, second-opinion options, and other resources based on their needs, insurance coverage, location, and circumstances.
• Complex & Chronic Care Support: I help patients and families keep track of the moving pieces when care becomes complicated, including multiple specialists, chronic conditions, medications, testing, hospital-to-home transitions, and follow-up care.
• Special Education & School Advocacy: I support families navigating IEPs, 504 Plans, special education services, accommodations, evaluations, behavioral concerns, school refusal, transition planning, and communication with school teams. I also help families navigate the transition from public school to homeschool when a student with disabilities, neurodivergence, or other special learning needs requires a different educational setting.
• Disability & Family Support Navigation: I help families navigate developmental disability services, Medicaid/DD waivers, support coordination, respite, personal-care resources, and other disability-related systems and supports.
• Community Resource Navigation: I help identify resources for food, transportation, prescription assistance, financial assistance, caregiver support, medical equipment, home care, disability services, and other barriers that may affect access to care.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My path into patient advocacy began long before I ever gave it a name. During my mother’s cancer journey, I became one of her primary caregivers and advocates while also working in a medical office. I visited her daily, helped with wound and bandage care, coordinated needs, attended to changes in her condition, and learned firsthand how overwhelming healthcare can become for both patients and families.
That experience eventually became part of a much larger pattern in my life. I have advocated for my own family through complicated medical care, disability services, behavioral health systems, educational systems, and state agencies. I have learned how important it is to ask questions, document concerns, understand available options, communicate effectively with professionals, and continue searching when something simply does not add up.
My clinical background as a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant gave me an understanding of healthcare from inside the medical system. My experiences as a caregiver, parent, and family advocate taught me what that same system feels like from the other side of the exam-room door.
Those experiences are what led me to patient advocacy. I want patients and families to have someone beside them who can help organize the pieces, prepare the questions, navigate complicated systems, and make sure their concerns are clearly heard, no one should have to figure out a difficult health journey completely alone.
That experience eventually became part of a much larger pattern in my life.
