Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My commitment to advocacy is deeply personal. I have lived this journey from both sides—navigating the fragmented medical system to save my own father twice and fighting to ensure his care aligned with his quality of life. Furthermore, my work is a tribute to my daughter Kayla's legacy and her profound philosophy to "Just Live."
During my 20-plus years as a Registered Nurse, I have walked alongside hundreds of families in their most vulnerable moments across intensive care units, oncology wards, behavioral health facilities, home health, and hospice care. Time and again, I saw the same heartbreaking pattern: brilliant specialists understood their individual pieces of the puzzle, but nobody was looking at the whole picture.
