Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I became a registered nurse in 1989 after completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at EMU. Initially, I worked as a Cardiothoracic Nurse specialist for 5 years and then transferred to the Emergency Department and became a Trauma Nurse. I started a staffing company in 1999 where I worked various critical care areas throughout the Detroit and Ann Arbor areas. After relocating to Traverse City in 2006, I began working as nurse case manager, assisting patients injured in auto accidents and workplace accidents. In 2011 I became a certified case manager, CCM, and have been providing external case management since that time.
A certified case manager is a specially trained bachelor prepared nurse, who advocates for their clients' rights and healthcare needs with healthcare plans, insurances, physicians, therapists, and pharmacies. Having a certified nurse case manager will provide the best possible advocacy and management for your or your loved one's healthcare needs. I will assist my clients to reach their maximum health/wellness status possible for their given medical condition(s).
