How I Can Help
Daily, people experience miscommunication. From helping families resolve a conflict to not understanding how to adapt to a patient's cultural needs, having someone with expertise in communication can help. Having taught classes in interpersonal, health, culture, business/organizational, and persuasion, my communication background allows me to offer research-based practices, skills, and knowledge to help patients, caregivers, advocates, and even CEOs navigate various health needs. I work with anyone from any background and understand that you have multiple components that make you who you are. While I often work with populations frequently classified as “complex,” including but not limited to LGBTQIA+ and Neurodiverse populations, I firmly believe that everyone should be seen, heard, and understood. I will work with you individually or with others to navigate your health concerns. I offer face-to-face and virtual consultations that always begin with a free 30-minute. session to assess how I can best be of service.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My first introduction to advocacy began when a dear friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. She worked closely with an advocate, and I was able to observe just how impactful this role could be. She modeled compassion, understanding, and drive while helping my friend and I, and I have never forgotten those lessons. While working on my graduate education, which focused on public health and communication, I worked as an STD and HIV counselor and lab technician. Each week, I spoke with clients and heard their stories about risk, prevention, and their need for help communicating with family, partners, and even providers. For six years working in the clinic, I made it my mission to help guide each client to receive the care and support they needed. Upon graduation, I extended my scope by becoming trained as a domestic violence and sexual assault first responder. For the past ten years, I have helped support survivors by offering them a sense of control and understanding. Now, as a Board-Certified Patient Advocate, I work daily to help anyone navigate the complex waters that can be found regarding health. Be it someone feeling they are not seeing or understanding in terms of culture, managing a conflict about health decisions with family, or coming up with a plan for engaging in a difficult conversation, I am here to help.
