Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I have assisted many friends and family members to navigate their way through our overly-complex healthcare system.
Most recently, I spent a week advocating for my aunt who was in a small community hospital in Virginia. There were many instances where I had to step in and have a discussion with the healthcare team about their ability to care for my aunt verses having her shipped out to a higher level of care facility. Eventually she was life flighted to a Regional Hospital. Unfortunately, she did pass away a few days after the transfer.
This whole process led me to believe that it is my calling to help walk people through similar circumstances and to help support their families. Every patient needs a healthcare advocate to watch over their care and assist them in navigating through today's healthcare system!
