How I Can Help
Drawing on over 20 years of Emergency Department, critical care nursing experience , I help patients and their families navigate some of the most stressful and complex healthcare situations they will ever face.
Supporting families during medical crises when a loved one is hospitalized in the Emergency Department, ICU, or other acute care settings like (LTAC) Long term acute acre or in a (SNF) skilled nursing facility, I can help understand the medical jargon, the options and help you or your loved one make informed decisions and ensure that the patients rights are protected
*I can obtain and review medical records, diagnostic tests, imaging and help you understand lab results.
*I can translate complex medical terminology into clear and understandable information for families.
*I help with the coordination of Dr. appointments, help and support with Emergency Room visits and hospital stays
*I help patients and families prepare for conversations with physicians or specialists by identifying important questions, regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures and goals of care.
* I assist older adults who are aging independently with organizing their healthcare affairs, understanding available care options and planning for future medical needs.
*I facilitate guiding families through Dementia care planning, helping them anticipate future challenges, prioritize decisions and develop practical care strategies before a crisis occurs.
*I advocate for patients rights and educating families about healthcare regulation, protections, and decision-making authority throughout every stage of life. *I empower patients and families to improve health literacy, particularly when facing complex chronic, or rare medical conditions that require extensive research and coordination.
*Providing support to adult children and family members who live far from their aging loved one I can serve as a trusted healthcare advocate or your nurse in the family. I can be the bridge with the medical team and you.
*Offering guidance during ethics consultations and family member meetings, helping reduce conflict facilitate productive decisions and ensure the patient's wishes remain at the center of decision-making.
*My Emergency and critical care experience allows me to quickly assess complex situations, ask the critical and appropriate questions, and help families navigate healthcare systems with confidence during some of life's most challenging moments.
* Most of all I empower patients by giving them the knowledge and support they need while navigating the healthcare system with confidence and peace of mind.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I began my journey as a patient advocate when my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017. During that time, I took on the role of helping her understand her diagnosis, treatment options, and medications, ensuring she felt informed and supported every step of the way. I also worked to make sure she had the best possible care team in place. Beyond my mother’s care, I guided my father and siblings in understanding how they could support her and navigate the challenges we faced as a family.
Over the last 20 years in my nursing career, I have been able to help several close friends and other family and members navigate the healthcare system, help make sense of their diagnosis and their treatment plans.
These experiences have shaped my passion for advocacy and my commitment to helping others navigate complex healthcare situations with confidence and clarity.
I would be honored to be a part of helping you navigate your healthcare journey.
