How I Can Help
Medical system navigation — helping you understand diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps so you can make informed decisions

Communication support — attending or helping prepare for appointments, and translating medical jargon into plain language

Care coordination — helping organize records, providers, and next steps across a fragmented care team

Navigating court-involved processes — guidance through probate, guardianship, and related legal proceedings that intersect with a loved one's care (non-attorney support, not legal representation)

Advocacy during crisis — support for families facing sudden medical or legal decisions who need someone in their corner

Emotional grounding — as a certified chaplain, I can also offer compassionate, faith-informed support alongside practical advocacy, if that's meaningful to you

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Before my father passed away, my family found ourselves navigating probate court, guardian ad litem proceedings, and a maze of social workers and legal processes — all while trying to care for my dad and hold our family together. We were thrown into a system we didn't understand, making high-stakes decisions under pressure, with no one guiding us through it.

What struck me most was this: there was no space to grieve. Every ounce of energy went into fighting through paperwork, court dates, and conflicting information, instead of being present with my father and each other in the time we had left.

That experience is why I do this work now. No family should have to choose between advocating for their loved one and having the space to love them. I became a patient advocate and non-attorney legal advocate so that other families facing medical and legal crises have someone in their corner — someone who can carry the logistical and procedural weight so they can carry each other.

Additional Skills
I bring hands-on experience navigating some of the most difficult systems families face, including VA hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and assisted living facilities. I'm experienced working with hospital and facility Ombudsman programs, filing Department of Health complaints, and coordinating with social workers.

I've also personally navigated probate court and guardian ad litem proceedings, which gives me a firsthand understanding of the legal and emotional weight families carry during these processes.

On the clinical side, I'm knowledgeable about serious conditions like bed sores (pressure injuries) and sepsis, and can help families ask the right questions and advocate for proper care.

Beyond the practical and legal side, I offer family crisis counseling, pastoral care, and grief counseling — because advocacy isn't just about paperwork and phone calls, it's about supporting the whole family through crisis, loss, and grief.
