Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My mother survived 2 separate strokes. The second one landed her in the nursing home. I am currently her power of attorney as I am her only child. She is permanently disabled on her left side. I had to provide documentation for Medicare and Medicaid compliance. I also had to direct funds from her account at the nursing home for her future end of life plans. I was able to do this with out help due to my 12 years as a [patient advocate in the ED and 6 working the Patient Services Administration zoned in the same ED. I was present when patient zero from the Covid-19 arrived in the ED I worked In. I have seen and had to respond to countless crisis that i cannot fit in this story.
