Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
In 2012 I began advocating for family members who were suffering from severe migraines, fibromyalgia, cancer, mental health problems, dementia, and a myriad of consistently undiagnosed chronic illnesses. They were overwhelmed and exhausted trying to get the care they needed, in our incredibly complex healthcare system. Over the course of working with them I organized a team of highly qualified healthcare providers, found resources and treatment options, coordinated transitions of care and housing, and helped them understand the treatment they were receiving to make their own informed decisions
