How I Can Help
If you are living with a chronic, complex, or even undiagnosed condition and are struggling to coordinate care, make sense of your illness and/or your treatment options, and perhaps have been curious about adding wellness modalities to your protocols, but are worried about getting scammed or not getting results, we might be a great fit to work together!
I work with patients and families managing chronic, complex, or undiagnosed illness. My practice, Parallax Circle, is fully independent — not affiliated with any hospital, insurer, clinic, or wellness brand — so I work only for you.
Some Common Things I Help With:
-Coordinating communication and care across multiple specialists and providers. When you have multiple doctors and specialists and hear conflicting information or feel like you're falling through the cracks, this is where we can help.
-Organizing and reviewing medical records and treatment history. We can help you create a health history binder, a one-sheet snapshot page, or simply organize and manage your medical records so you can walk into appointments prepared.
-Preparing for appointments — what to ask, what to bring, what to expect. Do you feel like you walk into an appointment and walk out more confused than when you went in? Preparing for appointments can help minimize this effect and help you get the most out of your visits.
-Teaching a practical framework for evaluating any treatment or provider, conventional or complementary, so decisions are based on evidence rather than guesswork. Health literacy and wellness literacy are often things most people need to develop consciously, from understanding modalities and legal scope of practice to knowing how to end a patient-provider relationship when things aren't working.
-Understanding insurance billing, appeals, and authorizations - While my specialty isn't specifically in insurance billing, I can often help you navigate moderately complex issues around billing, and if it is beyond my expertise, we can help you find someone who can help.

My Survivor Support Advocacy Qualifications
I am a survivor of Long COVID/PASC, MCAS, Histamine Intolerance, Chronic Migraine (specifically acephalgic, vestibular and hemiplegic), PMDD, ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), PEM (Post-exertional malaise), Reactivating EBV (Epstein Barr)
I have been trained and/or certified as a peer mentor.
I have been trained through the Living/Dying Foundation to provide non-denominational end-of-life support, and I have also volunteered with this organization, including work with clients with rare and complex chronic diseases.
I have been dealing with mysterious health conditions and being a "mystery patient" for much of my adult life. I've experienced many rare side effects, rare presentations of otherwise "normal" illnesses, and, in the past decade, have been living with an emerging mystery autoimmune condition as well as Long COVID, which began in 2024. I am thankful for my ability to advocate for myself, research emerging treatments, and secure a care team willing to work a bit outside the box to help me. My experience with these conditions led me to embark on my journey as a Patient Care Advocate.
Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
In 2024, I developed Long COVID, and I now live with Long COVID, ME/CFS, and MCAS. That gave me the patient-side view of exactly how disorienting and exhausting managing a complex chronic illness really is — not in theory, but firsthand.
I've been a licensed acupuncturist since 2010, and I hold a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) along with a master's in Organizational Psychology. Over 15 years in practice, I watched the wellness industry shift — becoming increasingly predatory toward exactly the patients who can least afford it: those with chronic and complex illness, often desperate for answers after being failed by conventional care.
My graduate research focused on coercive control and destructive leadership. I started seeing the same patterns show up in the wellness space — patients who'd been misled, financially exploited, or talked out of effective treatment by practitioners who knew exactly what they were doing. That's when I made a commitment to do something about it directly.
That combination is why I moved my practice from in-person acupuncture to remote patient advocacy. For clients who want to build the skills to advocate for themselves, I provide the education and health literacy training to do that. For clients who can't or would rather not do it alone, I'm there at every step — coordinating between conventional medicine and integrative care so you get the benefit of both, evaluated honestly rather than sold to you.
