Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I became an advocate because death has been a familiar and formative presence throughout my life. Early experiences with funerals, elders, and caregiving cultivated deep compassion and reverence for life’s final transition. A near-death experience and years of hospice volunteering transformed this awareness into a calling, leading me to become a certified Death Doula dedicated to improving how people experience dying.
Through extensive training in spiritual care, energy work, movement, and touch, I learned that end-of-life does not have to be rushed, fearful, or lonely—it can be gentle, meaningful, and deeply human. Working alongside hospice and palliative teams, I advocate for presence, dignity, and choice, believing that how a person dies becomes part of the legacy they leave behind.
I do this work to help ensure deaths are remembered for their peace, care, and connection—and to honor the belief that life deserves to be fully experienced, with compassion and beauty, right through its final chapter.
