How I Can Help
My name is Veronica Studer and I am a registered nurse and board certified patient advocate specializing in the older adult population. I help clients and their families navigate complex healthcare systems-whether that’s understanding diagnoses, preparing for surgeries, coordinating care or simply making sure their voice is being heard. My role is to bridge the gap between patients, providers and families so that nothing gets overlooked. I focus on safety, dignity and informed decision making, especially during vulnerable transitions like a hospital stay or a new diagnosis. Ultimately, I give families peace of mind knowing that someone experienced is there solely focused on what is best for their loved one.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My path to advocacy began at the bedside.

As a nurse in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, I had the privilege of helping patients recover after life-changing cardiac and respiratory events. I saw firsthand how overwhelming healthcare could be-not just for patients, but for their families. Many struggled to understand diagnoses, coordinate appointments, manage medications, and navigate an increasingly complex healthcare system.

Later, while working in a memory care unit at a long term care facility, I witnessed a different challenge. Families were often doing their best to care for loved ones living with dementia while juggling careers, children, and countless responsibilities of their own. Many felt overwhelmed, unsure where to turn, and in need of guidance and support.

These experiences showed me that people often need more than medical care- they need someone in their corner. Someone to help them understand options, coordinate services, ask the right questions, and ensure their voice is heard.

That realization led me to become an independent patient advocate. Today, I use my nursing experience to help older adults and their families navigate healthcare with confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.
