Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Before I ever put on my nursing scrubs, I felt the heavy weight of a broken medical system. Working as a young medical assistant, I watched patients struggle to manage chronic illnesses. But the reality truly hit home when I left that job to become a full-time caregiver for my terminally ill father-in-law .
I know what it feels like to be lost in the medical world. I spent my days setting up appointments, fighting with insurance companies, keeping track of medicines, and trying to find the right care for my family. That heavy struggle changed my life, my calling became clear. I chose to become a nurse so no other family would have to walk that terrifying path alone.
Since then, my career has been shaped by deep empathy. Working from pediatrics to geriatrics in psychiatric care, home health, and hospice, I have held the hands of patients and families during their most vulnerable moments. I have never been a nurse who belongs to a hospital or a corporation; my heart belongs entirely to my patients. I am their fierce advocate, dedicated to researching every option, lifting the burden off their shoulders, and fighting to ensure they receive the dignified, compassionate care they deserve.
