As a board certified and practicing Internal Medicine physician, I have spent over a decade inside the healthcare system—caring for adult patients, navigating clinical decision-making, and witnessing on the frontline how complex and fragmented care can become. I founded my patient advocacy practice to bridge the gap between medical expertise and the real-life challenges patients and families face outside the exam room.

My background in medicine has provided me unique expertise and insight into the healthcare world and allows me to understand diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and clinical language at a deeper level, while my experience in health policy and work as an advocate allows me to slow things down, explain options clearly, and help patients feel informed and supported. I specialize in guiding individuals through complex conditions, medication management, care coordination, and communication with healthcare providers and insurers.

I approach advocacy with both clinical insight and human compassion- having also had to fight for myself and my family on a personal level for our own healthcare related issues. While I do not replace a patient’s treating providers or offer medical care through my advocacy work, I use my medical training to help clients ask the right questions, anticipate challenges, and make informed decisions aligned with their values and goals.

My mission is to make healthcare more navigable, transparent, patient-centered, and AFFIRMING- so no one feels alone or unheard while managing their health, the core purpose of AffirMD Advocacy.
