How I Can Help
With over 20 years of experience as a physical therapist and a clinical reviewer for health insurance, I know exactly how medical teams and insurance systems operate. I use this insider expertise to advocate for you during complex hospital stays, rehabilitation placements, and long-term care transitions. Whether you are confused by doctors' jargon or struggling to coordinate between different specialists, I can step in to ensure you get the care you actually need while I handle the system’s complexities.

As a patient advocate I can provide help in the following areas:

Medical Navigation:
Clarify diagnoses in plain language: Translate confusing medical jargon into clear, actionable information.
Research treatment options: Find available treatments and assist in arranging expert second opinions.
Prepare for and attend appointments: Help you prepare your questions and accompany you to appointments to ensure your voice is heard.
Organize medical records: Gather and structure your medical history for easy access and understanding.
Coordinate multi-provider care: Manage and streamline communication between your different doctors and specialists.

Care Transitions:
Manage hospital discharges: Smooth the transition after acute care or a rehabilitation stay.
Facility research and selection: Assist with researching and choosing the right skilled nursing or assisted living facility.
Attend discharge planning meetings: Act as your voice in meetings to ensure a safe, organized transition back home.
Coordinate home health and equipment: Arrange for home health services and durable medical equipment (DME) for a faster, safer recovery.

Insurance & Appeals Advocacy:
Deconstruct insurance denials: Analyze rehab coverage denials using my insider knowledge as a former clinical reviewer to find where the system failed you.
Navigate the appeals process: Build and guide you through effective, evidence-based appeals to fight for the coverage you deserve.
Review medical necessity: Ensure your doctors' documentation is framed correctly to meet strict insurance approval criteria.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My passion for patient advocacy grew from witnessing how confusing the healthcare system can be for patients and families. As a physical therapist, I guided people through recovery from surgeries, strokes, and injuries across hospitals, rehab centers, and home care—helping them understand diagnoses, treatment options, and safe transitions home. Later, as an insurance reviewer and inpatient care coordinator, I saw how paperwork and delays often hindered access to needed care, prompting me to improve communication and streamline approvals. Supporting friends and family through their own health challenges confirmed what I believe deeply: every patient deserves clarity, a voice, and compassionate guidance at every step.

I am a licensed physical therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience across varied settings. For the past five years, I have also served as an insurance reviewer and an inpatient care coordinator. This blend of clinical and administrative insight allows me to guide clients and families through complex medical decisions with clarity, compassion, and confidence.
