How I Can Help
Healthcare can get complicated quickly, especially when you are dealing with several doctors, new diagnoses, medications, hospitalizations, or changes in a loved one’s health. I can help you sort through what is happening and figure out what needs to happen next.
I can help coordinate appointments, referrals, testing, medical records, medications, equipment, home services, and communication across your healthcare team. I can also help you prepare for appointments, develop questions to ask your providers, and better understand the information you receive afterward.
I work especially well with older adults and families managing chronic or serious illness, changes in independence, hospital-to-home transitions, hospice or end-of-life care, and situations where several different providers or services are involved.
Sometimes the biggest problem is not knowing who to call or where to start. I can help research options, make calls, follow up on outstanding issues, find available resources, and keep the different pieces organized. My goal is to make sure you understand what is happening and have a clear next step instead of feeling like you have to figure everything out on your own.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I became a nurse in 2018, and over the years I have worked with patients in several different areas of healthcare. One thing I kept seeing, no matter the setting, was how difficult it can be for patients and families to navigate the healthcare system.
That became especially clear to me working in hospice. Families were often trying to care for someone they loved while also figuring out medications, equipment, doctors, insurance, services, and decisions they had never had to make before. Sometimes what they needed most was simply someone who understood the system, could explain what was happening, and knew who to call when something wasn't getting done.
I realized that advocacy was already a big part of how I practiced nursing. I was the person making the extra phone call, following up when something hadn't happened, explaining things again in a way that made sense, or helping a family figure out where to start.
That is what eventually led me to patient advocacy. I enjoy spending time on the parts of healthcare that patients and families are so often left to manage on their own. My nursing background helps me understand the clinical side, but being an advocate lets me focus on the person in the middle of it all.
