How I Can Help
At Valsa HemeOnc Partners (VHOP), I provide personalized, virtual oncology education, patient navigation, and care coordination services to individuals diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones throughout the United States. As an experienced, board-certified Physician Associate (PA-C) specializing in hematology and oncology, I help patients and caregivers better understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and next steps so they can make informed decisions and confidently navigate their cancer journey.
My Services Include:
- Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment Education: I provide clear, evidence-based explanations of cancer diagnoses, treatment recommendations, potential side effects, and what to expect during treatment.
- Second Opinion Guidance: I help patients understand when and how to seek a second opinion, identify appropriate specialists, and prepare important questions.
- Clinical Trial Navigation: I provide education about clinical trial opportunities, eligibility considerations, and resources for exploring potential treatment options.
- Treatment Decision Support: I help patients understand available treatment approaches, prepare questions, and communicate their goals and preferences with their oncology team.
- Care Coordination & Appointment Preparation: I assist patients in organizing medical information, preparing for oncology appointments, and navigating communication between healthcare providers.
- Ongoing Patient & Caregiver Support: I offer personalized guidance, educational resources, and regular check-ins to help patients and families navigate challenges throughout cancer treatment.
- Survivorship & Supportive Care Education: I provide guidance on understanding treatment-related concerns, improving quality of life, addressing wellness needs, and transitioning into cancer survivorship.
I offer one-time comprehensive oncology consultations and ongoing three-month to one-year navigation and support packages through secure virtual appointments.
My mission is to ensure that no patient or caregiver feels they have to navigate cancer alone. I strive to empower individuals and families with the knowledge, confidence, and personalized support they need throughout their cancer journey.
All services are private pay and educational in nature, designed to complement, not replace, the medical care provided by each patient's treating oncology team.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My passion for patient advocacy is deeply personal. In 2002, my mother, Valsamma “Valsa” Thomas, a registered nurse for over 20 years, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Just one month later, she passed away. That experience showed me firsthand how overwhelming and difficult navigating a cancer diagnosis can be.
As a board-certified Physician Associate (PA-C) with over 16 years of clinical experience, including over a decade in hematology and oncology, I have witnessed the challenges patients and families face in understanding their diagnosis, exploring treatment options, and making informed decisions.
I founded Valsa HemeOnc Partners in my mother's honor to bridge the gap between receiving cancer care and truly understanding it. Through personalized oncology education, patient navigation, and compassionate support, I empower patients and caregivers to navigate their cancer journey with greater knowledge and confidence.
My mother's experience inspired my career, and the patients and families I serve continue to inspire my mission: ensuring no one has to navigate cancer alone.
