Non-Profit Advocacy?

Does anyone have a nonprofit attached to their advocacy business? If so, would you tell me a bit about it? How did you set it up? Do you have both profit and non-profit arms? Do you have separate boards if so? What do you wish you'd known prior to forming and what would you do differently now?
