Allison Shevlin

Over twenty years ago I began my career working with the aging population. I worked in various capacities in communities throughout South Florida. In 2017 I switched from community work to Care Management in the non-profit sector. I gained a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge while working with elders with varying diagnoses and challenges. In 2021, my Mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Stomach cancer. My parents had recently moved to Florida, knowing I would be their advocate as they aged. I was able to facilitate doctor’s appointments, treatments, coordinate care, and eventual Hospice needs, before my Mother passed on October 13th 2021. I am grateful I had the ability to be a strong advocate for my Mother in her time of need. My deep understanding of the aging process helped facilitate the best care possible for her. In July of 2023 I launched Managed With Care to help other families navigate similar challenges.

I am particularly skilled in navigating Independent, Assisted, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing communities. I worked at various levels of care throughout my career. I am especially passionate working with individuals living with dementia.
