Interest in an IVIG/SCIG Education Series for Patient Advocates?

Hello everyone!

Many of my clients struggle to get IVIG prescribed or approved. In working through these cases, I've had to learn many sides of the equation: which diagnoses may qualify for treatment, how those diagnoses are established and supported, and which insurance coverage and billing rules apply to IVIG and SCIG.

One thing I've noticed is how siloed this information can be. A neurologist or immunologist may understand the diagnostic criteria and prescribing process, while an infusion pharmacy representative understands the available coverage pathways, and a billing specialist understands the policies governing reimbursement.

Yet patients and advocates often have to navigate all three.

I'm considering developing a series of educational classes for advocates that connects these pieces, from understanding the clinical evidence to identifying the appropriate coverage pathway and recognizing why an authorization or appeal may be unsuccessful.

My longer-term goal would be to develop these into accredited continuing education courses, but I'd like to begin by making this information accessible to patient advocates.

Would anyone be interested in a series like this?

If so, please send me your contact information!

I would very much be interested. I'm running into more and more clients who have autoimmune diseases with underlying immune system issues. If you work with APHA or NAHAC, they would be able to help you put together a presentation or series that offers CE credits.

I just succeeded in securing approval for a long covid client who was rejected for months to begin these infusions. The process was challenging but I was successful.
