Seeking a Mentor- Parkinson's specialization

Hello! I launched my business Steadfast Advocacy in June after receiving my BCPA in April. I'm someone who was drawn to patient advocacy after my experience as a caregiver and an advocate, in my case, for my Mom who had Parkinson's. I'm looking to help elderly folks with medical navigation, housing transitions, and end-of-life preparations and hope to reach folks who have Parkinson's specifically, since I have a lot of knowledge and experience with it.

Is anyone an experienced advocate with a similar focus who would be willing to mentor me? I haven't gotten any clients yet so looking to observe, assist however I can and learn as much as possible. Please let me know!

Congratulations on launching your business and thank you for becoming a patient advocate. I am a nurse and after many years of advocating from the bedside, I just recently started my own practice as well. I have yet to have a client that is not a friend or family member so I may not be able to offer you much mentorship but I would be happy to chat about ideas or goals for your practice.

I am new as well to Advocacy but 40 years previous business knowledge. That is I owned my own place during that time. It would be easier for you to just call me at 513-673-6987

Hi! I have not had a patient, but I do have a friend currently about a year out from diagnosis. They have a yearly Parkinson's conference. We went last year and it was interesting and some great resources and physician's that gave us some great information. If you are in Florida… or come to visit! The 2027 Navigating Parkinson's Symposium is January 10,2027 at the Jewish Community Center, 522 N Howard Ave. Tampa Fl. 33606 ( www. jewishtampa.com) It is free and they will set a deadline for RESERVATIONS. They might have it streaming online… I am not certain. It was GREAT last year!
