My career began as a Medical Speech Language Pathologist, where I had the privilege of working in renowned hospitals like Stanford University Hospital and New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. I worked across a variety of settings, including emergency departments, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of swallowing and speech/language disorders in neurogenic, cardio-thoracic, and aging populations, to name some. During my years in clinical practice, I saw firsthand the overwhelming challenges that patients and their families face when making critical health decisions, often with limited time and understanding. Even in the most compassionate healthcare environments, providers are stretched thin by productivity demands and responsibilities beyond patient care, leaving families to navigate complex situations with limited resources and knowledge. As a patient and a mother myself, too many times I’ve personally felt that need for guidance facing the medical system. These experiences sparked a deep desire to make a broader impact. I knew I wanted to help patients by empowering them to take control of their healthcare decisions. That is why I transitioned into patient advocacy, where my sole focus is on guiding patients and families through making informed, confident choices.
