About me
Healthcare navigation has been part of my life for more than 15 years. I spent much of my career working in oncology and hematology, where I saw firsthand how overwhelming a serious diagnosis can become—not only medically, but emotionally, financially and logistically. I watched patients and families struggle to understand what came next, who to call, what questions to ask, how to manage appointments and medications, and how to deal with insurance, referrals, authorizations and the many other pieces of care that can quickly become overwhelming. Too often, people were expected to navigate an incredibly complicated healthcare system while also coping with one of the most difficult times in their lives. That is what led me to patient advocacy and navigation. Over the years, my role has grown from helping patients within the medical practice to helping people navigate the entire healthcare journey. I have worked in oncology patient navigation, medical assisting, care coordination and healthcare administration, and I now serve as a Principal Illness Navigator and Director of PINs. I believe patients deserve more than a list of phone numbers or instructions to “call your insurance company.” Sometimes they need someone who understands the healthcare system, knows what questions to ask, can help connect the pieces, and will stay beside them while they figure out what comes next. That is the advocate I strive to be. My goal is simple: to help patients and their loved ones feel less overwhelmed, better informed, more organized and more confident as they navigate their care. No one should have to figure out a complicated healthcare journey alone.
