Welcome, Everyone!

For those I've not met, I'm AnnMarie Cross, I'm GNA's director of advocacy engagement. I manage this new community, as well as many other areas meant to provide support to you, our advocates, and to those looking to become an advocate.

I am a newly minted BCPA, but do not currently practice one-on-one advocacy with clients. I do, however, spend significant time supporting Sam on GNA's Advocacy Support Center.

I'm a rare genetics patient, («rare»), with hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome impacting me since before I was born. I am very active in community advocacy for my conditions, running one of the largest Facebook groups in the world for EDS and comorbidities.

Please feel free to «connect» with me, and test out the messaging function by saying «HI»!

THIS NEED HAS BEEN MET. Thank you for all who responded previously on the FB group.

Kimberlie — we have several advocates in this area. You can find three of them by searching the GNA site by doing a problem/condition search for tourism or for «medical tourism» in quotes. I believe we have at least 2 more, but sadly their profiles don't have these keywords, and i can't recall what they might say. (Which is why we push so hard about keywords now, in onboarding!)

Leah,
Thank you so much for sharing this incredibly compelling story. I'm so very sorry for that patient; I can imagine that terror she was feeling, and am heartbroken for her.
Thank you so much for the work that you do in the county hospital.

Thinking of you, and that patient, today,
AnnMarie

This is such a logical and fascinating concept. I hope this is something that more birthing centers provide to patients.
